ABOUT THE STORE

Chi Chi was launched  in January 2017.
From a dream, an idea and a vision Chi Chi was created.

The name ‘Chi Chi’  was our late sister  Chi Chi who worked as a nurse, a vocation she was passionate about. She possessed a caring, quirky personality  and always lit up any room she entered without even trying! She had a unique style and a creative flair for fashion especially hats, caps and shoes and a very ‘off the wall’ eye for interior design, pushing boundaries, wall papering doors with brightly colours prints and using bright colours to make a statement!
Chi Chi loved people and they loved her! Her priority and greatest love was for her little family who she adored. She was an animal lover and rescued little Barney who is now 16 and much loved by our customers today.
No better way to remember her than by giving her own shop!!

Chi Chi is part of the independent retail sector allowing the freedom to execute new ideas with flare  and personality. The business incorporates ‘Cafe Chi Chi’  serving our own blend of barista coffee as well as speciality teas, delicious hand picked cakes, scones and clotted cream. As part of our unique offering we sell beautiful gifts and interiors. We may be small, but the business has a ‘big heart’  and we love to build relationships that are meaningful and offer great customer service, this approach has sustained this business with repeat custom from our loyal customers who come back time and time again.

As a small business we have a strong ethos of supporting community and are involved in a number of charitable projects which we will continue to do in the future.

The Independent retailer is the heartbeat of local community and of course businesses need to make money but making people happy and making a difference is ‘priceless’!

MEET THE TEAM

DEBBIE (OWNER/DIRECTOR)

Debbie is the owner who also works full time helped by a couple of good friends  in the business. She is passionate about being a retailer, and is a lover of good coffee and chocolate. Merchandising and interiors help to bring out her creative flair hence Chi Chi is her ‘UTopia’

She has had the privilege of working  at Disney World Epcot Centre, Florida, Cabin crew for Gulf Air and Emirates, corporate medical sales, real estate agent as well as being a mental health nurse, not to mention having a strong entrepreneurial spirit.

Debbie is passionate about customer service and helping others. She has currently returned to university for a few months to complete a Return to Practice for nursing following Covid and the current issues that has increased instability in mental health.

Debbie has a few hobbies one being walking, she enjoys the countryside and nature. She bought a bike recently and is yet to daringly get out and ride it. She loves nothing more than having coffee with friends and those close to her.

She is an eternal optimist and follows her dreams, many of which have come to fruition. She believes that any business you run should represent some personal values and should be authentic and serve others.
